Halal Analyzer
1. Planned Overview
Halal Analyzer will be a camera-based food ingredient analyzer designed to help Muslim users identify halal compliance from product labels. It will be reviewed in collaboration with cultural and religious advisors before release.
2. Planned Data Handling
- No account required; the app will work anonymously.
- Ingredient label photos will be processed transiently and not stored.
- Local scan history will stay on your device.
- No personal identifiers will be collected.
3. Planned AI Pipeline
Photos of ingredient labels will be sent over HTTPS to our backend for OCR and ingredient classification. The image will be discarded after the response. Classification results (halal / haram / doubtful / unknown) will be returned with confidence scores.
4. Cultural Review
All ingredient classifications will be reviewed against established halal certification guidelines (MUI, JAKIM, KMF reference lists) before release. The app will clearly mark results as guidance only, not as a religious ruling.
5. Religious Disclaimer
Halal Analyzer will be a guidance tool, not a religious authority. Final halal/haram judgments should be made with qualified scholars and certified halal labels. The app will not provide religious rulings.
